Holidays

Well the holidays are over and back school well in my holidays I went to my cousin Nickie house up in Auckland and I had so much fun we went to the sky tower we went to the beach and also went on a big shopping day I brought so much clothes oh yea then I had a couple of days to have fun with my little cousin liem and cormack we went on there little play dates we had the best of times. I even got to go to Hamilton to have a look at our new members to our family Hawiki and Amene they were so cute and I had the most amazing time

What was the book Hoot about ?

Well this boy called Roy has moved to Coconut cove and he really wants to fit in but get's bullied almost every day on the bus by Dana mathason but Roy start's to get curious about a boy who run and never comes to school so Roy set out to find who he is and goes on amazing adventure with amazing new friends and finds out more to what's really happening so here we go.

                                     

Who was my favourite character and why 

So my favourite character in the book was Roy Eberhardt he was a really Kind 

sometimes stubborn but he had this spark that light up and he really wanted to 

protect that what he really believe in which

really got my attention he also cared for his friends as well he also stood up to the bully.   

Who was my least favourite character and why ?

My least favourite character was Danna mathason well this character was a bully and I hate bully he was rude, stubborn and he hurts Roy for fun and I disgrace what he does he pretend that he has no one in the world that can touch him and he really needs to work on his behaviour and his words.

What part of the book was my favourite ?

My most favourite part in the book was when Roy had given Mullet fingers his name to get help from the hospital when Mullet fingers was attacked from those dogs. It was risky but they had no choice but they did it.

What do I think the theme of the book was/what was the message    

Well theme was bulling and standing up for what you believe in and also friendship.

What rating Do I give It ?

Well I would give it a rating of 10/10 because it was well told and had a little bit of everything action and more it really got me in and it was amazing in any other way.   

What part of the movie are you looking forward to ?

well I'm looking forward to everything because the book is really different to the movie but I hope they have the hospital bit because I thought that was courage and great friendship. 

   

Aida

Last Tuesday Mokoia Intermediate School had attended the  Rotorua Boys High production called Aida.Which is a romance love triangle, action and more the show was amazing. The effects in it the life they put into it the costumes and the time they put into it also they wouldn't had done it without Rotorua Girls high I had loved it if I had another way to go  back again I would anyway let give you some info.  Okay Aida is a Nubian princesses but she must be a slave to keep her true self hidden and the a Egypt captain Radims who fall in love with Aida but he is forced to marry the princesses of Egypt.     

Cursive

In my opinion I don't think it's necessary to write in cursive because some students might fall behind in this particular writing form and its really bad for students to fall behind because we want them to be up there in their grade which is what we want now do we really want cursive to be written to this very day no I don't think we need to because the students might not have this skill and could be very hard and maybe difficult.


And also Only three state
 have made cursive a part of the core curriculum requirements

 while 45 states require proficiency in computer keyboarding at 

the elementary level. Some states have made cursive optional.

Has our society advanced to the point of where handwriting has 

become unnecessary.As I look at this I might re conceder that

writing in cursive is nice but might be hard for some students but  

we don't need to get lazy and trust technology we need to learn to 

write in different formates.

Will there making new and more technology we tend to get lazy 

with our hand writing which is not good we need to keep going 

with hand writing and not trust technology as much as we do.



So what I'm trying to it is nice to write in cursive but the choice 

is your's.Weather you write or trust technology.

Mining Cavern Transforms Into World's Largest Underground Trampoline Park

Trampoline parks are sprouting up all across the world. However, they all pale in comparison to Bounce Below - the world's biggest underground trampoline park that opened in the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales, on July 3rd. Nestled in a massive cavern that is located inside a 100ft deep and 60ft wide former slate mine, it provides visitors with a bouncing experience like none other.

Plus-I think it is amazing because you get more attraction and its fun for all ages.

Mines-I had really hoped that they would have made more tramps instead of just 3.

Interesting-I would love to go there because its really interesting on how they dug to do this.

The students of P3 had a chance to do program a graphing game called Kodu this game helps us to us technology differently making games and programming the characters to do amazing things. We are not the only class using this program there are other classes using them in the USA and it might take sometime to get the program going for the game you might want to create but its just so much fun to use.   

Devon

DAY 1

On Wednesday the 20 of August

As we depart from the school hall getting ready for our six hour travel all the way down to Devon Intermediate in New Plymouth getting ready to represent Mokoia Intermediate. In a sport fixture which has been happing for 13 years.As I sit on the bus it fell weird going to another house with other people well I'm going to have to try to get along.As we past town after we come to a stop at the big apple which is a restaurant which we will be going to on the way pack from Devon as we finish our lunch we go on the bus and off we go. as we go along the road I start to fell really, really board

as we make our final stop for lunch our darling teacher had to take us for a run up a really steep hill and wobbly bridge which was fun.when we get on the bus we made our way all the way down to Devon as we unload I finally meet my bullet with some other people from our school which was stela and ani which felt more relaxing our bullet was named Bex she was so nice to all of us and her mother as well and we all had the most of fun.

Day 2

After a night of rest we all needed to focus on the grand prize the Devon and Mokoia fixture trophies. I was playing Basketball as we make our way into the hall after we finish our welcome on to Devon we all mean buissnes after we finish our talks we make our way out we head up to our changing rooms after we finish I make my way onto the basketball courts and we begin our game we had a ruff game but after all the running and skills we win 38-19 wich was amazing. As we finish all the sports we make our way out and get ready for the Devon disco which was so much fun the lights, the smoke machine and more.

Day 3

After a night of rest and fun we say goodbye to our bullets and the parents for everything they done for us we give our presents and go. When we enter the hall we finally find out how won the trophies so here it is a win for mokoia for basketball, year 7 Netball and hockey and now a win for Devon for Rugby, year 8 netball, girls soccer and boy soccer and now Devon had finally won the trophies but still we had our heads up high.After our fear well we said our goodbyes to our bullets and off we went and we had fun at Devon p.s The trophies is just on vacation we will be back.

My highlight for my holidays was my cousin's 21 st her them was vampires.Which was very funny and just so much fun I loved the food and drinks we all had a mean night.

My Book is about a boy who's name was luke Grander and now his name is lee Grant for lee he must hide everything about his old past because he is a third child but third children they are ilegal now lee must try serve throw his new life.
The reason why I chose this book is because my class has already finished the 1 book and there are 7 books in the series and I want to now how it ends.

Among the Hidden

For the book that my class P3 have been listing to is among the hidden

For our question in our class the main character luke he had gotten a id card so he would not get killed from the population police because third child are called shadow children and they are should not exist. I think for the next book he would get caught from the population police because he might be hand in.

What was your genius hour?
My genius hour is about my jewllery box.

What was the best part of Genius Hour?
Being with my Family and doing it together and having fun oh also being active and hands on work. 

What was your process?
I started scetching the box in week 4 then brought the material the wood and some bling. In week 8 I started ruling then week 9 we started to saw and smooth the side then in the weekend. We started painting, screwing and putting on bling.

How did your end result turn out?
My results were amazing a little shaggy but very good with the help with my parents.

Was it Successful?
 it was very success in the way it turned out but very good a nice lid very smooth sides and a wonderful job.

what would you do differently next time?
I would add some more bling and a little mirro and more speacial things.

what would you do next time if you could do Genius Hour?
I would do sewing because I like hands on things and I want to learn to sew and help my mum.

My book I'm reading for our book club is Gone.For a boy Sam has only a limited time till he disappers but there trying to stop all this with the help of astriod and Quinne they hope to stop all this until there time is up. I picked this book because it was very interesting and it is amazing.

Wonder

I perdict that August will start to be friends with everyone at his school. and this is for our finishing for our wonder story.

Family Food and Fun Fair

On Thursday the 3 of April we had our family food and fun fair we had so much fun I won so much prizes we had a cake store and so many games. like Guess the baby, are you a fitness Freak and pop the balloon. So much fun.

the man next to you gone a bullet through his head, blood everywhere. I wish this war was over me at home work as always but no I need to be here.With a gun in my hand I hope things will be diffrent that wars will be over.50 years later

Dear Dairy Friday May 2295
Hi dairy its me Emmaly 50 years ago my mama told me about the war.
But I think nothing has change the capital still rich, crewl and selfish the walls up high my village fight to get in.
To feed there kids and family but once there over they never return we have ragy clothes we hunt for food papa never takes me. My mama and papa starve papa only brings just enough food for me. I shiver at night mama holds me tight to her heart never lets go I love my mama and papa so much oh no got to go mama is calling to me.

G'morning mate what's the news for today?

 My learning centre had a great time out at Thornton camp we had blast here are my key words of camp.

In the large photo our team needed to make the biggest building made out of dry noodles and small marshmallow's. In the middle is our finished building of noddle, at the top we had a technology block just for music and me trying to play the guitar.
